Founded in 1987, Whitehall Rowing & Sail was the first to produce boat models that combine slide seat rowing systems, usually found in a racing shell, with the famous Whitehall lines that represent hundreds of years of design evolution.
Based on the legendary Whitehall row boats, these seaworthy and safe designs perform beautifully in all conditions and always bring a smile of approval to those who know boats. Over 2000 of our custom classics are owned by rowing and sailing enthusiasts around the world.
Our philosophy is that a boat should be a lifelong asset for personal and family pleasure, stand up to rigorous usage and be built to last generations.
We are proud to introduce the new Whitehall Spirit™ Solo 14™. It retains all of the rowing performance of our hand built classics and is lighter and more affordable. More people can now enjoy the benefits of both traditional fixed seat and slide seat rowing!

Marie Hutchinson and Harold Aune are the owners and co-founders of Whitehall Rowing & Sail. Both have extensive backgrounds. Marie in areas as diverse as midwifery and healing to yacht construction, business management, marketing and manufacturing; Harold in yacht and small boat design and construction, business management, and manufacturing through to film making, music and offshore sailing. “We both feel the world is now shifting toward a new connection with nature, life and real values, which we fondly refer to as the quiet revolution; the products our company offers are beneficial to this process.” |
